Sugar & Spice, Rough & Tumble

My girls and their tom boy ways. They have 4 brothers, they could easily have gone in the direction of super girly to escape some of the testosterone that fills our home. They love dolls, princesses, dresses (sometimes), shopping, cooking, crafting, and stories of girls doing great things. They also love doing things with Nathan & their brothers. They both love the outdoors, building things, riding on the tractor, sports, and aren't bothered by a little dirt on their hands (or face). I love their tom boy side, because I  have never been all girly girl. I am proud to be a woman and hope to instill those feelings in my girls. I also want to teach them that being a girl doesn't limit your desire to do or try anything. I am thankful that Nathan and our boys know that girls can try and do things they do (just as we don't discourage our boys from learning to cook, clean, and sew). I am thankful that Nathan supports both our girls and me in the things we dream to do. Lizzi has been hunting with Nathan, been taught gun and knife safety (just like her brothers), and gets in the fun when they play football, basketball, or go target shooting. I have no doubt in my mind that Bella will be right in the rough and tumble as she gets older. I love my girls. I love teaching them to appreciate all things from cooking to hunting. I look forward to seeing their interests grow as they grow.

i don't know what i would do if my girls were "all" girly either. I love that they are well balanced!
